Leah Winsberg is the Senior Policy Attorney with Children’s Law Center, Inc. Leah advocates for justice-involved youth throughout Ohio and seeks to improve the systems serving young people through direct legal assistance, policy reform, and community education. Leah advocates for a systemic legal approach that acknowledges and promotes the fundamental differences between youth and adults. Much of her work focuses on improving conditions of confinement, reducing racial disparities, and promoting effective alternatives to deep-end systems. Prior to joining CLC, Leah worked as an Attorney in the Juvenile Division of the Cuyahoga County Office of the Public Defender. Prior to entering the practice of law, Leah worked in various social service settings with children and youth in Cleveland, Ohio and Austin, Texas in the areas of behavioral health, education and employment, and juvenile justice and re-entry.

Leah graduated from The Ohio State University in 2007, with a major in Sociology and minor in Fine Arts. In 2016, Leah graduated magna cum laude from Cleveland State University’s College of Law and was awarded the Dean’s “Learn Law, Live Justice” fellowship of her graduating class. At Cleveland State, Leah engaged in policy reform, including a campaign to end solitary confinement of youth and a pilot program to improve parent representation in child welfare cases. Leah currently resides in Cleveland, Ohio.
