This four-part series will focus on supporting facilitators in effectively helping teams develop plans that contain alternatives to intensive out of home placements. Wraparound processes are mission driven. The mission is to support youth and families in being safe and together in community as much as possible. Teams, the families they support, team members themselves, and the organizations they represent often struggle with finding unique ways to help in complicated situations. This leads to a reliance on formal services in service plans as well as a sense of frustration for families and team members alike. This series will examine tools and techniques used by wraparound facilitators to set the stage for building truly individualized and unique responses to one ‘family at a time. Facilitators will explore ways to help teams realize their capacity to build help plans that are different than those they have participated in through other settings. Strategies for building hope in the conversation, challenging the status quo thinking, and creating a new and different conversation will be examined and practiced.
