This training is for those who already have a basic understanding of LGBT+ youth and families. In this training, will begin by reviewing queer theory and gender minority stress. Next, we will review the gender queer, transgender, and asexual communities. Case examples, clinical tools, and resources will be reviewed. We will review the guidelines published by (WPATH) and the social justice issues associated with mental health services to the queer community. Finally, we will discuss ways to create a safe school and home environment through advocacy and creating gender communication and support plans.
