- A substantial number of Ohio counties have utilized the Family Development Matrix (FDM) in order to document changes resulting from their wraparound/service coordination efforts. The FDM is based on 14 Outcome Areas, including: Shelter, Food & Clothing, Transportation & Mobility, Health & Safety, Social & Emotional Health, Finances, Family Relations, Community Relations, Adult Education & Employment, Children’s Education & Development, Children’s Care & Safety, Youth Services, Immigration & Resettlement, AND Juvenile Justice.
- Analyses of data entered into the Wraparound Ohio/ESCORE platforms by eight FCF councils indicated positive and statistically significant changes in all 14 indicators, with the largest improvements occurring in the domains of children’s education/development, youth assets/social skills, and family relations.
- The amount of time in wraparound/service coordination was significantly related to positive changes in 3 FDM domains: youth assets, child education, and finances. Hence, in these areas greater amounts of time spent in wraparound/service coordination clearly was associated with increased family gains.
- African American families presented for services with greater difficulties than White families in 3 different domains: shelter concerns, transportation/mobility difficulties, and family relations. Interestingly, African American families experienced significantly more gains on two domains: shelter and finances. In contrast, White families experienced greater gains in the child education and development domain.
